We are looking for a quick learner with enterprise-applications experience and/or experience wrangling large datasets. Important skills include:

  • Java, javascript, multithreading and distributed design
  • Datamodeling, especially with semantic or ontology-centric tools, but including relational experience
  • Text search and analysis
  • Big Data analysis, from a systems perspective

Responsibilities:

You will play a critical role in the design and implementation of our data management platform, from identifying relevant technologies and sketching out the architecture, to implementing and instrumenting the code.

Apply Now.

Our big data engineers design and implement the systems which will transform vast quantities of sequence data into smaller, but still quite large, datasets ready for exploration by biologists and researchers.

  • Grid/HPC infrastructures (SGE, Slurm, etc)
  • Hadoop and its ecosystem
  • AWS and related on-demand/elastic compute models

Responsibilities:

You will bring our computational core to life. Bioinformatics workloads challenge the central assumptions of many existing HPC designs and you will help match the technologies to the applications.
